As a country, we hold a $15+ TRILLION debt, yet we maintain the HIGHEST corporate tax rate in the world. We have an 8+% unemployment rate, never mind the whole “which side of the aisle” pundit you listen to concept, anything above 5% is bad. Our elected president has effectively conveyed his opinion that, as a country, we should model our republic on the European social model, yet Europe’s financial leaders are coming to us with their hat in hand asking for us to bail out their perpetual vacations because their elected leaders don’t want to go back and tell their people that they actually have to work? Our Social Security system, a truly revolutionary financial concept that, in my opinion, was a very good idea for the American taxpayer by effectively taking away the personal decision to save for their own inevitable retirement (it leaves personal emotions and present desires out of it and makes it a straightforward, above-the-board deduction), is tanking.Our Medicare system, derived as a means to provide a stable health care system for our retired seniors, is lying on the bottom of the North Atlantic with the Titanic. The only people that are considered illegal in the United States anymore are those law enforcement folks and state politicians that are actually trying to enforce the federal government’s own legislated immigration laws. Globally, Iran is trying to build nuclear weapons and espousing every other week that Israel, or some other country, is the devil and should be wiped off the face of the earth;

North Korea’s leaders would rather build a better bottle rocket than feed their own people; we are stuck in the middle of two questionable country rebuilding programs (I won’t call them wars because we won the wars and I believe we did the just and honorable thing in removing the folks in power, yet we screwed up by staying). Yet our elected officials in congress have taken it upon themselves for the past 3+ years to waste our time and money on whether some baseball player took steroids? Are you kidding me? What’s next?  Calling a congressional hearing on why models get their pictures chopped with photo-editor and air-brushed before they are published on a magazine cover? Who cares? Correct me if I’m wrong, we are a nation of laws; the job of congress is to legislate, the job of the federal government is to enforce, and the job of the judiciary branch is to judge. If the guy broke the law, fine, let law enforcement and the judicial branch do their job. If the law is found to be wrong or needs to be tweaked, then step in and work as a TEAM to correct it, do the job that we elected you representatives for! Focus on the ball, because the impression that we are being given is that your sense of what is important has left the very same building that is now crumbling down around all of us!
