Jim Crawford, a Democrat and member of the North Carolina House of Representatives, along with 10 Democrats, voted in favor of placing Amendment One, which would ban same sex marriage and civil unions, on the May 8th ballot.  However, he now claims “it goes too far,”  despite that fact he sponsored in 2009 and co-sponsored in 2010 a similar measure.  Crawford likely flip flopped as he now faces a primary challenger due to redistricting.  His Democratic opponent Winkie Wilkins voted against the measure.
