The scandal of coal is that it has been vilified by environmental groups as well as a know nothing US president, who has promised to make it impossible for any new coal burning energy plants to be built. Just saying the word coal brings to many people’s minds a picture of black soot covering houses and children, killing everything it touches. Nothing is further from the present truth, which is that new technology allows us to burn coal with virtually no impact on the environment.

Oil companies and politicians like Obama, who must pay off campaign contributors like British Petroleum, are behind the steady stream of propaganda intended to remove coal from the arsenal of tools that would be used to keep energy costs down, and make us energy self reliant. Barack Obama, using his EPA regulators, has forced the closing of four coal plants already, and publicly stated that he will make it impossible for anyone to build a coal fired energy plant because he will force them into bankruptcy if they do. Coal furnishes America with 50% of its energy, so Obama’s misguided policy will serve only to cause our energy bills to soar…for no valid reasons.

Coal as a criminal fits nicely into the phony Al Gore lie about CO2, carbon dioxide, being the cause of global warming. This myth has been thoroughly debunked, with only the ignorant, or people making a living from propagating this lie, still running around with placards, proclaiming the end of the world if we continue to emit CO2 into the atmosphere. To put this into perspective, visualize a 100 story building representing all of recorded history. Now visualize a layer of linoleum on the ground floor of the building. All of the CO2 produced throughout history, both naturally and manmade, would be represented by that thin layer of linoleum. Please notice that virtually all of the articles and videos on the subject of clean coal are based on the false premise that CO2 is causing global warming. Even proponents of clean coal technology start off their defense of coal based on the premise that global warming exists, (it doesn’t), and that burning coal is a major cause of it (it isn’t) This is the core of the scandal.

Well well well…even this short trip into the world of coal shows clearly that the scandal surrounding coal is a complex one. It has little to do with keeping our environment clean, and everything to do with getting rid of a cheap, abundant and reliable source of energy for America. The CIA, when analyzing a new situation, always asks two questions: where do the dollars lead, and who benefits from this?

Strip away the lie of CO2 and global warming, and see what you come up with as answers to those two questions with respect to coal.
