Amazon Sells Shirt Confusing DC with Washington State

The multinational e-commerce giant Amazon had been selling a T-shirt until recently that is depicting the state of Washington as “Washington, D.C.” among its “ugly Christmas” sweater items.

Finding out about the product sold on Amazon, the D.C. Council quoted a tweet on Monday with a screenshot of it, and added a message, saying “Apparently, Amazon doesn’t give a shirt about the District…”

Various comments on Twitter followed the surfacing of the Amazon item.

The shirt that seems to have been removed now had been listed on the website since September 21, 2018, and had no customer reviews.

WUSA9 reported that it reached out to Amazon for comment regarding the product, but has not received a response so far.
