China Chilcano is operated by Spanish-American chef and philanthropist José Andrés who holds two Michelin stars. Celebrating the multicultural Peruvian cuisine, it is a top-notch DC spot to enjoy dim sum dishes such as pollo siu mai (chicken & scallion), liu mai (pork & shrimp), jiaozi de la chacra (cilantro dumpling), Szechuan chili wontons (shrimp & pork dumpling), and more.

China Boy

Located near the National Gallery of Art, the little Chinatown restaurant may seem inconspicuous at first glance. But it will dazzle you with its mouth-watering dim sum at reasonable prices. The only downside is that the food is only available for takeout. China Boy opens at 8 am, being one of the few dim sum places that open this early. Catering is also offered.

Specializing in traditional dim sum and Cantonese dishes, the family-owned business is a local favorite for foodies. Customers are handed a pencil and a dim sum menu, off which they can mark their selections, along with their quantities. Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options are available. Consider wrapping up your meal with the great egg tarts served here. The space is wheelchair accessible. 

Bar Chinois

The tastefully-decorated downtown restaurant is an excellent place for chilling with your friends in a nice ambience, while having cocktails and delicious dim sum. Happy hour takes place between 5 pm and 7 pm from Tuesday through Saturday, during which you can get cocktails at half price and dumplings for $1 each. You can also have brunch here every Sunday from 12 pm – 5 pm.

Han Palace
