DC Auto Show at Walter E. Washington Convention Center Through April 14

-

Washington Auto Show featuring almost 600 new models from over 30 automakers has been taking place at D.C.’s Walter E. Washington Convention Center from April 5 through April 14.

The 10-day event is recognized by the International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (OICA) as one of the nation’s top five auto shows. It is known for “offering cutting-edge exhibits, latest model cars and displays of historic vehicles.”

“The Washington Auto Show is also the largest public show in Washington, D.C. Over the course of its many years this beloved and historic D.C. tradition has attracted Washingtonians of all stripes – and political affiliations. Visitors enjoy the annual trek to the Walter E. Washington Convention Center for the entertainment, as much as for the experience of viewing the hundreds of cars on exhibit,” according to the auto show brief.

The 2019 show will also have VIP tours led by award-winning automotive writers. A special exhibit area will be dedicated to live painting of “art” cars.

Visitors can also experience automotive Ride ‘N Drives at the show. For the first time, an all-new Electric Drive Experience presented by EZ-EV and Exelon will feature indoor and outdoor ride and drives. The Electric Drive Experience will be held on the lower level of the convention center.

Camp Jeep will return in this year’s show with an all-new off-road obstacle course. Visitors can enjoy the Jaguar Land Rover Test Drive Experience, as well, which returns to the event with re-designed courses.

A Family Fun Zone and the Art-of-Motion exhibit are also part of the show. Sports stars like Wayne Rooney, celebrities and other D.C. athletes will be making guest appearances throughout the show.
