Join Online Hand-Drawn Pattern Workshop for Free While Staying at Home

Staying home could seem like one of the biggest challenges for everyone these days, as we all are trying to keep away from possible exposure to the coronavirus.

If you are looking to find ways of having fun and learning something creative at the same time, you are very welcome to attend Elizabeth Olwen’s online workshop for hand-drawn patterns on Wednesday, April 1.

Olwen, who is a Toronto-based surface pattern designer, is planning to start her class with basic drawing exercises and then show the participants how to create a repeating pattern using only pen and paper.

“It’s so magical to see a pattern come to life!” Olwen says in the event brief, adding that people of all skill levels would be warmly welcomed. There will also be a Q&A section as part of the class.

Even though the workshop is free, attendees are encouraged to make a donation of at least $10, which will be proceeded to organizations that are battling against the COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus.

However, the donation is not compulsory and “if you simply can’t afford to, you are still welcome to take the class,” Olwen says.

You should register for the event through Eventbrite ahead of your attendance and make the video conferencing service Zoom available on your device, as it will be held on the platform.

You can donate to GoFundMe’s CoVid-19 Relief Fund here, or another charity of your choice.
