ZooLights Express to Visit Each Ward on Fridays and Saturdays

-

ZooLights, a holiday show presented annually by the National Zoo, is preparing to go mobile and come to every ward of the District this year, the Smithsonian Institution has announced.

Powered by Pepco, a massive 24-foot truck named “ZooLights Express” has been festively decorated with light displays to bring “the colorful glow of Washington, D.C.’s beloved Smithsonian’s National Zoo holiday tradition into the community,” according to the zoo.

Starting on November 27, the truck which features “Panda Claws” will hit the road to visit one DC ward each Friday and Saturday from 6 to 8 pm.

ZooLights has taken place at the zoo for the past 13 years, mostly onsite. Now it has been turned into ZooLights Express, which is “a distanced and safe way to bring joy and bit of holiday sparkle to D.C. residents,” the zoo said in a statement.

Here is the schedule of Zoolight Express:

Friday, November 27 | Ward 1
Saturday, November 28 | Ward 2
Friday, December 4 | Ward 3
Saturday, December 5 | Ward 4
Friday, December 11| Ward 5
Saturday, December 12 | Ward 6
Friday, December 18 | Ward 7
Saturday, December 19 | Ward 8

The National Zoo’s website will soon release the specific routes of ZooLights Express.
