Shooting in Friendship Heights Leaves One Dead, One Wounded

A man was found dead after a shooting incident behind the Lord & Taylor store at the corner of 45th Street and Western Avenue in Friendship Heights, Washington DC. Based on witness reports within the area, a total of “ten to 12 shots” were fired.

DC Police say they arrived at the scene and found a gunshot victim. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was eventually pronounced dead.

Another gunshot victim was found across the Maryland state line in Montgomery County. He is “conscious and breathing” and is now at a nearby hospital.

Police have identified the suspect as a black male in his 20s-30s, wearing all black.
