Joe Biden Wins DC Democratic Presidential Primary

-

Many Washington, DC residents went to the polls on Tuesday amid the coronavirus pandemic and the widespread protests against police brutality sparked by the death of George Floyd. Former Vice President Joe Biden won the DC Democratic presidential primary.

Even though the DC Board of Election urged citizens to apply for voting by mail due to the ongoing outbreak, some people opted for voting physically.

A curfew in the District went into effect at 7 pm on Tuesday as a precaution against Floyd demonstrations that turned violent at times over the past few days. However, polls were kept available until 8 pm, with voters and poll employees being exempt from the curfew.
