A 17-year-old, identified as Christopher Brown, died and at least 21 people were injured in a shooting in Southeast DC early Sunday morning.
The incident took place during a cookout near the 3300 block of Dubois Place in Ward 7 when multiple shooters opened fire shortly after midnight.
One of the victims is reportedly an off-duty DC police officer.
Nine people, including the off-duty officer, were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment after the shooting.
DC police are currently looking for the perpetrators, according to DC Police Chief Peter Newsham, who confirmed that there were multiple shooters and that at least 11 of those wounded are females. No arrests have been made yet.

Newsham told the media that there were hundreds of people present at the outdoor event, even though it is forbidden for more than 50 people to gather as part of the coronavirus restrictions in the city.
“My understanding, and this is preliminary and subject to change so take it with a grain of salt please, is that there were officers here. There were not sufficient officers to be able to move a crowd of that size,” Newsham said.
