DC Police Arrest One Protester at Adams Morgan Demonstration

-

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) arrested at least one person during a protest that took place in the Adams Morgan neighborhood late on Thursday.

The demonstrators gathered near 18th Street and Florida Avenue in Northwest at around 10 pm, protesting against police violence. They also demonstrated outside MPD’s Third District Precinct.

Officers had a line at the intersection of Florida Avenue and 18th Street.

WUSA9 reported that one arrested person was heard banging on the walls of a police van, and the crowd outside demanded their release, chanting “Let them go!”

Another protester had a stroke during the action and was taken to a hospital by an ambulance, according to WUSA9, which attributed the information to a witness at the scene.

It is unclear at this time how many people were arrested.
