DC Police Increase Reward for Help in Killing of 11-Year-Old Davon to $55K

-

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) has increased the reward it is offering for a piece of information that will help arrest one of the suspects in the fatal shooting of 11-year-old Davon McNeal to $55,000.

The suspect in question has been identified as Marcel Gordon, 25, of Southeast DC. He is likely to be armed and dangerous, according to police.

Davon died on the night of the Fourth of July after he was caught in a fire and shot in the head following a cookout on the 1400 block of Cedar Street. He was later pronounced dead at a hospital where he was transported.

Davon’s family told the media that he was out to pick up a cell phone charger during the cookout. Five men reportedly opened fire and drove off in a dark-color sedan at that moment.

Police initially offered $25,000 for information leading to the arrest of suspects. Three men have been arrested in connection with the shooting so far.

Anyone who has information on the incident can contact DC police at 202-727-9099 or use the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE by anonymously texting 50411.
