More than 70 restaurants and bars across the D.C. Metro area will be supporting Dining Out for Life on April 4 by donating a portion of their sales to Food & Friends for food and nutrition services it provides.
Food & Friends is an organization that offers nutritious home-delivered meals to adults, families and children suffering from HIV/AIDS, cancer, and other serious illnesses. It distributes nutritionally-tailored and delicious food directly to homes every Monday through Saturday with a variety of 11 specialized meal plans to meet the nutritional needs of its clients.
Dining Out for Life will help raise some funds needed to aid Food & Friends which has been building a community of support to deliver hope and health, one meal at a time, for more than 30 years now.
“Our home-delivered meals and nutrition counseling serve adults, children and families living with HIV/AIDS, cancer and other life-challenging illnesses throughout the Washington, D.C. area. Your support during Dining Out for Life® and throughout the year ensures we can continue providing life-sustaining nourishment to our neighbors in need,” according to the Food & Friends website.
Restaurants and bars such as Comet Ping Pong, Compass Rose, Purple Patch, and Cactus Cantina will be donating a percentage of their proceeds to support Food & Friends.
Participating restaurants and bars in D.C. include, among others, Annie’s Paramount Steak House, Beau Thai – Mt. Pleasant, Beau Thai – Shaw, BKK Cookshop, Blue 44, Blaguard, Brookland’s Finest, Buck’s Fishing & Camping, Café Berlin, City Winery, Commissary, Duplex Dinner, and Dupont Italian Kitchen.
