Two DC Hotels Among Top 20 Luxury Hotels in 2019 Rankings

Washington, D.C. has two of the top 20 luxury hotels and resorts in the U.S., as well as 12 Gold badge-winning ones in the top 10 percent of about 4,000 hotels evaluated, according to the 2019 Best Hotels Rankings released by U.S. News & World Report, a global authority in rankings and consumer advice.

Four Seasons Hotel Washington, D.C., at 2800 Pennsylvania Ave. NW was ranked No. 15. The Hay-Adams was ranked No. 20 and the Jefferson has landed on the 21st spot.

Hawaii’s Four Seasons Resort Hualalai has topped the list of the Best Hotels in the U.S. rankings. The Peninsula Chicago was ranked second and the Four Seasons Hotel at The Surf Club, Surfside, Florida came third.

The U.S. News Best Hotels rankings assessed luxury hotels spanning more than 400 destinations, based on each hotel’s industry awards and expert evaluations, along with customer reviews.

Hannah Cheney, senior travel editor at U.S. News, said:

“Readers can use the rankings to find a variety of options for every type of vacation. Whether that’s a luxurious stay in Paris or a weekend getaway to a college or beach town, we’ve expanded the hotel rankings to give readers information on even more hotels.”
