D.C.’s 14th and U Street corridor was recognized as the most-visited late-night neighborhood on ride-sharing scooters, the transportation company Lyft announced Wednesday, as part of its annual awards.
In the company’s fourth annual Lyftie awards, Brixton on U Street was named as the most visited late-night establishment, while “Busboys and Poets” on 14th Street was awarded for being the most-visited brunch spot.
D.C. residents and visitors are increasingly using e-scooters introduced by ride-sharing companies in order to commute for dinners, concerts and other events.
The new awards announced by Lyft show the properties which benefit the most from ride-sharing services.
Lyft also awarded the RFK Stadium as the most-visited concert venue in D.C. The stadium currently does not have a professional sports team playing home games, however, it is now planned to be developed.
El Centro’s Georgetown branch was awarded for being the most visited bar in D.C. The Planet Fitness in Silver Spring turned out to be the most visited fitness studio.
The award titled “Only in Washington, D.C.” was granted to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Earlier this year, the center hosted the popular musical “Hamilton”.
“Lyft helps Washington, D.C. residents experience and connect with their city in new and interesting ways,” Steve Taylor, Lyft Mid-Atlantic General Manager, said in a press release.
“The Lyfties are a way for us to say thank you for sharing a ride with us and to recognize the places that truly make D.C. unique, like the John F. Kennedy Center, and the 14th & U Street corridor.”
