DC Mayor Hosts Interfaith Prayer Service for Swearing-in

-

Starting the New Year, D.C.Mayor Muriel Bowser hosted an Interfaith Prayer Service with the Mayor’s Interfaith Council in honor of her swearing-in at Mount Vernon Place United Methodist Church on Wednesday.

“Join me at the Interfaith Prayer Service as we look forward – as we celebrate, and as we recognize that we must work together to advance #DCvalues,” tweeted Bowser.

The service started at 8:00 a.m. and continued for an hour. Other swearing-in ceremonies for various D.C. government officials took place at 9:30 a.m. at the nearby Convention Center. The Interfaith Prayer Service event was part of D.C. Proud 2019 events which are held around New Year’s Eve. The event marked the beginning of Mayor Bowser’s second term after her re-election.
