DC Fire and EMS rescued an eight-year-old boy with life-threatening injuries from a burning house in Southeast Washington on Monday morning.
The fire broke out in the 100 block of Upsal Street, Southeast, at around 3 am.

Crews also rescued two other children and three adults from the burning home, after they were trapped inside and called DC Fire, according to officials. They were also transported to a hospital for evaluation.
The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time.
