The second annual Tulip Festival Field of Tulips is scheduled to take place in D.C. from April 26-28 at The Park at CityCenterDC.
The festival is organized by CityCenterDC in partnership with Bloomia, a Virginia based flower retailer. More than 40,000 tulips will be kept on display during the three-day event.
“The Field of Tulips is a premium, must-visit pop-up experience full of curiosity, joy and wonder. Immersing guests in an urban fields of flowers, the experience allows guests to feel the immediate and happy effect of flowers,” according to The Field of Tulips website.
“We strive to create a unique environment in which people of all ages, abilities, and experiences feel free and eager to imagine, interact, create, and celebrate through flowers and colors,” the website adds.
Timothy R. Lowery, General Manager of CityCenterDC, said that The Field of Tulips has a great team that makes the festival vibrant. “We love what they stand for, their mission, and that they are local to the D.C. area. It was a very good fit for what we were looking for in a partner, and our goals were similar: making people happy,” said Lowery.
Visitors can pick and purchase tulips in an array of colors for just $1 a stem at CityCenter, which will be filled with thousands of tulips to choose from.
The festival aims to create a colorful “urban field of flowers.” In 2018, the festival attracted more than 8,000 visitors.
Some portion of the proceeds from the festival will go to the D.C. Central Kitchen.
The event is free and open to all. You can also snap selfies with tulips!
