After hosting the fourth annual walk last year, Mayor Bowser said that the Fit D.C. Fresh Start 5K was her favorite way to kick off the New Year in which hundreds of Washingtonians, young and old, cheer for each other and have fun.
“The 5K is the perfect way to bring together Washingtonians from all eight wards and get the celebration started,” she said.
Every year, the run is held at different locations so that individuals from all wards of the District can join in. Previously the event was held at places like Anacostia Park, the Woodley Park neighborhood, the Kingman Park neighborhood, and East Potomac Park.
