Four people, including two children, were hit by a car while they were walking on a sidewalk in the District’s Mt. Pleasant neighborhood on Tuesday.

The incident took place on 18th Street and Newton Street in Northwest around 5 pm. Prior to striking the four pedestrians, a driver in a gray Nissan Altima was reportedly driving erratically down the street.

The car then drove off after bumping into a fire hydrant, according to police, who are looking for the driver.
