A virtual seminar by a LinkedIn instructor is offering DC-area residents a guide on how to improve their LinkedIn profiles for targeting potential new employers and significant contacts while the business world is reeling from the pandemic.
The LinkedIn Learning event will take place Sunday, February 14, from 6 pm – 7 pm EST, and every Sunday in the following weeks.
“Explore how to create a LinkedIn profile that brings your personal career story to life, whether you’re just starting out, seeking to advance, or making a career change,” the event brief says.
Lauren Jolda, who is the head of LinkedIn’s ‘Rock Your Profile’ team, will share tips on customizing every section on your profile.
Based on the idea that a LinkedIn profile should be unique and not be considered a résumé, Jolda teaches her audience how to add media to a profile, methods for displaying your career accomplishments and aims, as well as “specific examples of profile phrases and language that can help inspire your personal story.”
Jolda says she has been working at LinkedIn for over six years. LinkedIn’s Rocket Profile, led by Jolda, is a global program aiming to educate, inspire, and empower people to build their professional profile and connect to opportunities using LinkedIn.
Potential attendees need to create an account and gain access to the ‘Free Trial’ ahead of the event. Those not wishing to pay for the service should cancel before the trial period ends.
