Locals’ Favorite One Story Pizza Store Burned Down in DC

-

La Villa Pizzeria that had been operating over the past eight years at the 14th and Crittenden Street, NW burned down Monday morning, saddening regulars of the place.

Upon receiving a call at 5:19 a.m that a fire broke out., D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department (D.C. Fire and EMS) arrived at the scene.

As a result of the efforts of 12 units and 50 personnel from the D.C. Fire and EMS, the fire was extinguished. No injuries were reported.

“Neighborhood favorite La Villa pizza burned down this morning. Was definitely our go to pizza place. Will be sorely missed,” a social media user named Ari was quoted by Popville as saying.

“So much more than great pizza. Chicken parmesan, chicken caesar wraps, great calzones, grilled chicken caesar salad, and much more made their way steadily from Crittenden Street down to Arkansas Avenue over the years. I hope they are able to rebuild. They were an all-time favorite,” commented Michael K. Wilkinson under Popville’s report on the fire.

“Oh lord no! Totally agree, the pizza is exactly as it should be, but they have tons of other items that hit the mark as well. Please rebuild!” Jason said.

“The secret best delivery in town, but more importantly, this place is run by really great, kind people. So sad- hope they’re able to recover,” said East.

La Villa Pizzeria opened in July 2011.
