DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) announced that a man died after its crews rescued him from the Potomac River Thursday evening.
The man was pulled from the water near the Key Bridge in DC at around 8:30 pm and he was in critical condition when he was found, according to officials.
He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, where he was later pronounced dead, the Department said.
The victim has not been identified yet.

Members of DC Fire and EMS conducted a search in the area but they could not find any other individuals.
It is not clear how the man ended up in the Potomac river.
