Registration for This Year’s Marine Corps Marathon Opens to Public

-

The District’s annual Marine Corps Marathon opens for registrations from around the nation on Wednesday, March 10 at noon.

The 46th edition of the event is currently planned to take place virtually due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, it is expected to switch to an in-person marathon depending on the COVID-19 metrics in the region and the country.

Registration for the Marine Corps Marathon 10K is scheduled to start in April.

The marathons, including the 50K race, will be held from October 1 through November 11.

“Ambitious runners can register for three MCM [Marine Corps Marathon] Weekend events including the virtual MCM, MCM50K and MCM10K to complete the Trifecta,” organizers said in a press release. “The challenge will reward finishers with a stunning Bravo Zulu coin in addition to the corresponding finisher medals.”

Virtual participants of the Marine Corps Marathon and the Marine Corps Marathon 50K are required to pay $55 in addition to a processing fee.

Runners who wish to take part in the marathons must be at least 14 years old.

Those who register for the virtual Marine Corps Marathon events will have the first option to join any in-person race permitted according to COVID-19 safety measures in October.
