The District is set to be home to a new museum that will “trick your eyes and entertain your mind:” The Museum of Illusions.
The museum, located at CityCenterDC, is scheduled to open its doors to visitors on December 13.
More than 50 visual and educational exhibits offered at the Museum of Illusions Washington feature holograms, stereograms, optical illusions, and immersive rooms.
Exhibits are intended to entertain guests while teaching them about mechanics behind each illusion at the same time through a highly trained staff, who will also share expert tips on how to take the perfect photos for Instagram posts.
Exhibits include Ames room, where you will look like you grow or shrink while walking across the area; the Vortex tunnel, which will make you feel like the ground under your feet is moving even though you are walking on a stable surface; Kaleidoscope which will allow you to create your own psychedelic patterns, and many other exciting adventures.
