A group of people came together on the National Mall on Sunday to call for the reopening of churches despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Dubbed a “worship protest,” the event was organized by Sean Feucht, a pro-Trump, evangelical Christian musician from California.
Attendees expressed their objection to the District’s restrictions against the spread of COVID-19 that include a ban on indoor services at churches. It was not a requirement to wear face coverings during the protest, and social distancing was not maintained.
It was the last performance in Feucht’s months-long Let Us Worship tour that is dedicated to demanding the reopening of churches.
Missouri Republican Senator Josh Hawley also participated in the gathering.
Among the other cities where the singer has performed as part of the tour are Charleston, Nashville, Orlando, and Pittsburgh.
UNDONE. CRYING. WRECKED. 😭
Thank you to all who came and joined online. We lit up the sky tonight in DC for King of Kings and the Lord of all Lords!
I’m forever changed. I hope you are too.#LetUsWorship pic.twitter.com/CA9ox8k1dH

Feucht accused Instagram of censoring the broadcast of his Minneapolis and St. Louis appearances for violating community guidelines.
