A building collapsed in Northeast DC Sunday night, blocking a side street with debris, according to the DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Department.
The incident took place in the 3000 block of 20th Street, Northeast, near Langdon Park at approximately 9 pm.
The building was at least three stories high and officials had to temporarily evacuate six individuals, including three children, from an adjacent home due to the collapse.

Members of the DC Fire and EMS arrived at the scene upon a call, and discovered that the collapsing structure was either under construction or being renovated.
The collapse also caused power lines to fall down, which prompted Pepco to be called to the address.
No injuries were reported.

DC’s Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs dispatched a building inspector to the scene to investigate the incident.
