Education for Racial Equity Presents Online Workshop: ‘Seeing The Racial Water’

-

California-based Education for Racial Equity is offering an online workshop titled “Seeing The Racial Water” which will be presented by academic and author Dr. Robin DiAngelo on Saturday, July 18.

The event, scheduled to take place from 8 pm – 11:30 pm EEST, is promising attendees a three-and-a-half-hour lecture focusing on research and systemic analysis of “white supremacy,” as well as “whiteness” and “white fragility.”

DiAngelo is known for her book White Fragility, a US bestseller that sparked a conversation on what it means to be white.

“Dr. DiAngelo takes participants through topics including white socialization, systemic racism and the specific ways racism manifests for white progressives,” the event brief says.

“This will be a combination of lecture, structured reflection, and small group discussion designed to provide a comprehensive system analysis and identify personal complicity. It is an excellent and powerful foundational training that presents an undeniable perspective on the systemic nature of Racism, internalized white supremacy and the need for a systemic remedy that begins with individual and collective transformation.”

You can join the virtual event by purchasing a ticket ranging from $75 – $175. If you wish to get a refund, you contact the organizer about it. However, Eventbrite’s fee is nonrefundable.

Education For Racial Equity describes itself as “a cross-racial and inter-generational non-profit organization committed to illuminating and dismantling the system of white supremacy, globally.”
