Running USA has announced that they are canceling this year’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon and Half Marathon in DC, which were already pushed back to November, because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
“When we postponed the 2020 United Airlines Rock ‘n’ Roll Washington D.C. Marathon & ½ Marathon from its original date of March 28 to November 7, 2020, we felt confident we would still be able to deliver an exceptional event at the later date,” Running USA said in a statement.
“Unfortunately, based on the updated guidelines set forth by the Mayor’s ReOpen DC Advisory Group, and further conversations with local authorities in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic, the United Airlines Rock ‘n’ Roll Washington D.C. Marathon & ½ Marathon cannot take place in 2020 and will return on March 27, 2021 as a Half Marathon event.”
