Washington based travel and fashion writer Samantha Sault has written a comprehensive guidebook on Washington, D.C.
The guidebook is published by Moon Travel Guides, an award-winning company run by Avalon Travel which has been coming up with insightful guides on major cities since 1973.
Moon was looking for an author to write the guidebook on D.C. when Sault sent them a 50-page guide proposal which was accepted by the company.
Sault spent two years researching the guidebook which hit the bookstores in September. “I wanted to cut through the hype and give visitors the best of the best in DC. I also wanted to make sure they left feeling positive about what’s happening in Washington,” said Sault.
Sault thinks that it is the first major travel guidebook which has included a walking tour of Anacostia.
Sault has also written about D.C.’s music scene in the guidebook. “Particularly one thing that really fascinated me was D.C.’s history with the music scene,” added Sault.
