The DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Department said in an announcement that four adults and one pediatric patient were taken to a hospital following a crash in Southeast DC.
The crash took place Monday evening near the 1300 block Southern Avenue, Southeast.
Crews with DC Fire and EMS responded to the scene of the incident and evaluated the five individuals, determining some of them had serious injuries.
Two more advanced life support transport units were requested and the victims were transported to various nearby hospitals.

In an update, DC Fire tweeted that the victims’ injuries were serious but non-life threatening.
The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) remained at the scene to investigate the crash.
