The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) arrested a 21-year-old man in relation to a shooting that took place on Monday in Southeast DC, resulting in the death of one person and injuring of four others.
The incident occurred at a convenience store at around 9 am in the 1400 block of Good Hope Road, Southeast.
Terrance Oxner of Manassas, Virginia, was arrested on Monday, January 25, and charged with first degree murder while armed, according to a press release from DC police.
The decedent has been identified as Edward Wade, a 22 year-old college student of Southeast DC. DCist reported that he was buying coffee and food at the store while his mother was waiting for him in the car at the time of the incident.

Members of MPD’s Sixth District responding to the shooting reportedly found three men suffering from gunshot wounds. Two victims, one with life-threatening injuries, were transported by DC Fire and EMS to a local hospital. A third victim showed no signs consistent with life and was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
MPD detectives have determined that Oxner was also among the victims who sought treatment at a local hospital following the incident.
The case is currently under investigation.
