Two workers were taken to a hospital after they were wounded in an accident at a construction site in Southwest DC Tuesday morning, according to DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Department.
The two men were reportedly struck by some materials that fell on them at the site located on Maine Avenue near 6th Street. They received serious but non life threatening injuries.
First responders used a crane and a basket to remove the workers from the area before giving them emergency care.

An investigation will be launched into the incident by DC’s Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
