The United States Capitol is reopening to visitors for limited guided tours on Monday, March 28, two years after it was closed to visits due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The US Capitol has been closed to the public since March 12, 2020.
Groups of maximum 15 people will be able to receive guided tours, after making reservations online through the web page of the Capitol’s Visitor Services.
In the first phase of the reopening, member-led and staff-led tours will only be available one time each week — Monday through Friday, from 10 am to 2 pm.
Students from Kindergarten through high school may take part in tours for school groups, with reservations open on weekdays between 10 am and 2 pm.
Dome tours are scheduled to return in late April.
Officials recommend a health screening form for all visitors to the Capitol.
The phased reopening plan was formulated by House Sergeant-at-Arms William Walker and the Capitol’s attending physician Brian Monahan.
The Capitol tour schedules might change depending on the COVID-19 situation in the DMV area in the coming weeks.
