Capital One Arena Box Office, run by the Monumental Sports & Entertainment, has become home to a temporary sportsbook.
The city’s first legal sportsbook will be operated by William Hill US, a London-based sportsbook operator that has over 100 locations in America.
The ceremonial first bets were made Monday morning by three fans of the local teams who have season tickets of the Capitals, Wizards and Mystics.
The place that opened its doors on Friday is the first of its kind within a professional sports complex.

It will be working through seven ticket windows and 10 kiosks which will take cash bets from 11 am to 11 pm every day of the week.
Bettors will have to follow safety measures against the potential risk of coronavirus exposure, as per the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) recommendations, according to a statement by William Hill US.
A permanent William Hill sportsbook that is scheduled to open inside the arena in the fall this year will replace the temporary facility.
