The Metropolitan Police Department’s (MPD) Second District arrested a man for discharging a commercial grade firework at a pro-Trump group eating outside a restaurant on November 14.
The incident reportedly took place at approximately 5:40 pm in the 1600 block of K Street, Northwest, following the “Million MAGA March.”
MPD announces an arrest has been made in an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon offense that occurred on 11/14/20 in the 800 b/o 15th Street, NW.

A video shot by bystanders documented the attack, where a counter protester threw a firework at the Trump supporters. The attacker later fled the scene but was apprehended by MPD officers.
The suspect, identified as 26 year-old Javien Michael Dawson, of Northeast, has been charged with “assault with a dangerous weapon” according to a press statement issued by DC police.
