46 Percent of DC Residents Think Their People are ‘Intelligent’

Recent polling data released by YouGov shows that 46 percent of the Washington, D.C. residents are most likely to say that the general attitude of their people in the city is “intelligent”. An online panel of more than two million respondents in the U.S. helped in finding out the nationally representative results. Boston residents (46 percent) also said their city is “intelligent”. Several other cities like Denver, San Francisco (43 percent) believe that their cities are intelligent. Houstonians (49%) used the word “charitable” to define the attitude of their city. At 40 percent, Dallas and Boston also consider themselves as “charitable”. Mostly positive adjectives were used by people to describe their cities. One-quarter of Miami residents (25 percent) used the word “selfish” regarding the attitude of their people, and 26 percent defined their fellow residents as “shallow”. In Phoenix, 25 percent of the people called the attitude the city’s residents as “close-minded.” In New York, 26 percent defined their cities as “rude”, while 25 percent of Philadelphia residents called their own people “rude.” YouGov Omnibus is a polling service offered by the data firm YouGov, promoted as “the fastest, most cost-effective way to obtain answers from both national and selected samples.”
