DC Sports Fans to Enjoy Free Movie Screening

-

As part of a series of sports related movie screenings, Noma Business Improvement District (NoMa BID) is showing Bring It On at the Lot at First and Pierce from 6:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. on July 31.

The free public event titled “Summer Screen” has the movie theme “Who’s Got Game?” this year.

This week’s featured film Bring It On is about “a cheerleading squad captain facing stiff competition from an inner-city squad, while she must train a new team member and replace routines her former captain stole from other squads.”

Ahead of the movie, the cheer team from Explosion Elite is scheduled to perform. Attendees are encouraged to show up early so they can “grab a bite to eat from our food trucks, Basil Thyme and The Big Cheese, or check out the free things that our sponsors have to offer.”

You can bring your own chair or get a discounted chair from REI offered each Tuesday and Wednesday during Summer Screen.

The Lot at First and Pierce is located at 1150 First Street Northeast, Washington, D.C. 20002.

The organizers say that they have “a whole line up of your favorite sports related films.” Among the upcoming movies are Remember the Titans (on July 24) and Cool Runnings (on August 7).

All the films planned to be screened are subtitled. And there will be bike racks available on site.

The NoMa BID says on its website that it “organizes dozens of free events each year, including a weekly summer film series, nerdy panel discussions, popups, and seasonal neighborhood celebrations.”
