Around the World Cultural Food Festival Returns to DC

Food enthusiasts based in Washington, D.C. are invited to join the 2019 Around The World Cultural Food Festival on August 17.

The free event, which will be held at Freedom Plaza and Pennsylvania Avenue, kicks off at 11:00 a.m. and lasts until 7:00 p.m. The place is located between 13th and 14th St., right across from the White House.

“This year, we are taking you on a day trip around the world and present you the cuisine, culture and traditions of several countries participating in the event,” the event brief says.

The annual festival’s 2019 edition will be featuring many countries such as Australia, Colombia, Greece, Turkey, India, Brazil, Jamaica, Lebanon, Peru, Yemen, Guam, Morocco, Japan, Venezuela, China, France, as well as the United States.

Along with the food tasting experience, guests will get to enjoy traditional dances on the stage throughout the day, starting from 11:30 a.m., and ethnic arts & crafts.

Among other participants are small businesses and non-profit organizations, in addition to food vendors. 

The event is free, however, if you opt for a VIP ticket, access to the VIP area (which is a large tent in front of the stage), tasting samples from three and six countries of your choice (between three to five menu items), two soft drink tickets of your choice, separate VIP line from all food vendors (no more than five to seven minute wait).

You should note that alcohol is not permitted in the VIP area, but there is a designated area for alcoholic beverages.
