Wunder Garten, a popular beer garden in DC’s North of Massachusetts (NoMa) neighborhood, is holding a series of Halloween celebrations from October 19-31.
The events feature a range of activities and treats from Halloween-themed drink specials, trivia nights, LGBTQ Night, Halloween movie nights, and socially-distanced monster bashes.
“Halloween is a holiday favorite at Wunder Garten and on this very scary year, they are celebrating it for thirteen days. Although this year’s Halloween activities will adhere to DC’s COVID-19 guidelines and emphasize safety, they will not be any less festive,” the event brief says.
There will be campfire on Mondays, Spooky Trivia on Tuesdays, Pumpkin decorating, and Halloween movie classics showings on Wednesdays, LGBTQ Hallo-Queen nights on Thursdays, and dog-friendly Howl-oween on Sundays.
On Fridays and Saturdays, it will be a screaming great time at Wunder Garten, with plenty of opportunities to dress up, play fun games like the pumpkin holding and pumpkin weighing competitions, and win cool prizes, according to the event brief.
Staff at Wunder Garten decorated the area with haunting items for Halloweeen, made its outdoor heaters and fire pits available for possibly chilly weather.
They also prepared Halloween-themed drinks to warm up their guests such as Witch’s Brew, Bloodier Mary, Zombie Juice, Pumpkin Brew, Basic Witch, and other refreshments.
Located at 1101 First Street Northeast, Wunder Garten is a place inspired by the Bavarian beer gardens of Germany. It started business in 2015 as a pop-up beer garden and became a cornerstone of NoMa over time.
Wunder Garten offers a carefully curated selection of German and craft beers and a well-regarded wine and liquor selection, according to its website.
