The Metropolitan Police Department’s (MPD) Homicide Branch have launched an investigation after a man was shot and killed on Sunday in Southeast DC.
The incident took place in the 4500 block of Benning Road at around 12:40 pm on November 29.
Officers from MPD’s Sixth District found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds when they arrived at the address after hearing gunshots in the area, according to a statement from the police.
DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) found no signs consistent with life from the victim. He was later transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
MPD has identified the victim as 23 year-old Demeitri Anderson, of Northeast DC.
There have not been any arrests made in connection with the homicide so far.

DC police is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for any homicide committed in the city.
