Make 2020 Truly A ‘New Year’: Path to Purposeful Celebration & Change

-

You might have already overheard people talking about how much fun they are hoping to have at their New Year’s Eve party out. The truth is, much like last year, they will again mistake going on a binge and being exposed to extremely loud music in an extremely crowded area for having good time.

And they won’t be in shape for doing anything outside of their beds soon because of the terrible headache they will have when they wake up in the afternoon the next day.

For those who don’t want to join them, this article will offer a few ideas for a purposeful celebration and change to make 2020 a truly new year.

Shift Your Focus Away from a Single Night

Let’s start with the philosophy under whose light the physical aspect should take form.

Despite the enormous diversity among us, we are actually the same in a particular regard: We all have dreams to follow and fears to overcome. Don’t we constantly hope for a change for better but also complain about being unable to do it?

That is because we don’t demonstrate the necessary dedication to take the first bold steps for that to happen and the diligence to follow through with it.

Well, when is a better time to harness all our focus and motivation to make it last than the start of a whole new year? It can create such a massive wave of energy to clear all the stumbling blocks from our mental map towards success and meaning, which scientists have discovered doesn’t make you only happier but also healthier.

So, go ahead and make a list of all the things you want to add to or eliminate from your life in 2020. And don’t ever reduce the New Year to a single night of reckless partying. Embrace all the strength that it could offer to empower and enable you.

Best to Bring the Party Home!

There is, however, nothing wrong with taking advantage of New Year’s Eve to responsibly have some fun, either. It is actually a good get-together chance with your family and friends.

Invite them over for the comfiest, most casual party to ring in the New Year to cherish their love and support once again. In each other’s warm presence, you and your guests are sure to have much more fun together than in the middle of an ocean of strangers.

To make the experience equally satisfying gastronomically as well, tell them to bring appetizers to add to the ones you will prepare to create the most delicious open snack buffet. Add music, dance and board games to make sure everybody participates in the night’s beaming colors.

And if you like, prepare a New Year-themed photo backdrop particular to the place of your gathering so you can take memorable pictures of your beautiful party together.

If You Still Must Go Out…

For those who cannot, or for some reason don’t want to, throw a party of their own, Washington, D.C. will still feature amazing options to celebrate the arrival of the new year out together.

The following three are a careful selection of places in town where everybody can enjoy the party spirit and tasty food at affordable prices while not having to endure unbearable crowds even to get to the restroom.

Mola

A neighborhood restaurant in Mount Pleasant serving coastal Spanish cuisine, Mola will host a family-friendly New Year’s Eve celebration from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

What it has in store is a vast tapas buffet plus a cava toast for adults, while children enjoy their sparkling grape juice toast only to return to the game table, face painting and temporary tattoo station the next minute.

Guests will also get to watch the ball drop live in Spain at 6:00 p.m. Later in the day, the owners will offer another party for the actual countdown of the East Coast, as well.

First Night Alexandria

If you wish more entertainment and would like to be part of an event that is family friendly at the same time, your best course of action would be to make haste and purchase your tickets to FNA while you still can.

It will feature more than 100 performances throughout the evening from a great variety of music genres and shows. The kids will remain entertained at all times with clowns, face painting and games until it is time for the night’s acte majeur — majestic fireworks.

This year, the organizers promise their guests a totally unforgettable experience in celebration of the tradition’s 25th anniversary.

Pinstripes

And finally if you wish to be more physically active during your night out as the New Year rolls in, you should be at none other than Georgetown’s signature entertainment spot, Pinstripes.

Aside from its always brilliant menu for dining, this place will offer complimentary glass of champagne for the New Year toast and live, quality music all night, keeping the bowling lanes and bocce courts open for more fun.

There will also be two balloon drops, one at 8:00 p.m. in consideration of the children to be present and another one at midnight for those who will stay longer. Either way, it will be way more than you could possibly have at a nightclub or at a fancy masquerade for five times the cost. Why spend more on less?
