The biggest free arts festival in Washington, D.C., Art All Night Night: Made in DC, will be held in eight main neighborhoods on September 29.
Presented by Mayor Muriel Bowser, the overnight arts festival will bring together over 100 artists. The festival will showcase diverse talent in visual and performing arts, including painting, photography, sculpture, crafts, fashion, music, dance, theater, film, and poetry.
First initiated in 2011 by Ariana Austin and Alexander Padro of Shaw Main Streets, the arts festival was funded with a grant from the D.C. Commission on the Arts and Humanities. In 2014 and 2015, under Austin, the festival brought on board four other D.C. Main Streets organizations.
In 2016, seven Main Streets organizations participated in the festival, making it a bigger arts event.
