The 3rd annual DC Food Recovery Week will be held on October 13-20. The event is designed to educate people on how to reduce waste and prevent hunger in the city.
The participants can take part in cooking classes, composting workshops, and other networking events including a tour of local restaurants during the week.
Each fall the event is organized by the D.C. Food Recovery Working Group, which unites individuals working to reduce food waste and feed more people in the district.
The Food Recovery Week is scheduled to start at ILSR Compost Training at East Capitol Urban Farm, where a composting class will be conducted for those interested in composting at home.
