D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser will be opening The Horizon, a short-term family housing program in the District’s Ward 7, on October 9. The program will house and serve 35 homeless families.
The newly constructed Ward 7 short-term family housing program will have 35 family units. It comes with such facilities as computer labs for the residents, administrative space for staff and providers, outdoor playground and recreational space, age-appropriate indoor recreation space, and a homework, study lounge.
The housing program is also equipped with energy and sustainability features like green roof, high -efficiency windows, HVAC, and plumbing fixtures.
