Police Release Images of Suspect in DC Juneteenth Shooting

DC police have released photos of a suspect in connection with a mass shooting that resulted in the death of a 15-year-old and the injury of others at a Juneteenth event.

The incident reportedly took place on June 19 during a Juneteenth celebration called “Moechella” in the 2000 block of 14th Street Northwest.

Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) officers were ordering the festival’s organizers to shut it down when the shooting occurred shortly before 9 pm. 

The victim was named as Chase Poole, a 15-year-old boy of Northwest DC. He later died from his injuries. Poole was a student at Brookland Middle School in Northeast DC. Three other people, including a DC police officer, were wounded in the shooting.

MPD posted photos and a video of the suspect on Thursday, July 30.
