DC to Host Seafood Awareness Fundraiser on October 1

In celebration of the National Seafood Month, Seafood Nutrition Partnership will be hosting a fund-raising event, Celebration of Sustainable Seafood, in Washington, D.C. on October 1.

Top chefs from the greater DC area will be preparing special seafood dishes for the guests.  Nine D.C. area chefs will feature at the event and present their seafood varieties.

Ivy City Smokehouse restaurant on 1356 Okie Street NE will be hosting a couple of hundred guests who will have the seafood varieties.  The event will be anchored by Fishionita and Emmy Award-winning food and travel journalist Michael-Ann Rowe

Aquaculture Stewardship Council, Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute, Australis Barramundi, Camanchaca, CenSea, Mazzetta Company, Open Blue Cobia, Stavis Seafoods, the Sustainable Shrimp Partnership and Wiley’s Finest are the sponsors for the event, according to a press release.

The sponsors for the event include Aquaculture Stewardship Council, Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute, Australis Barramundi, among other partners.

Ron Goodman (Ivy City Smokehouse), Joseph Cotton and Tyler Skinner (Sodexo/National Aquarium) and Nathan Beauchamp (The Fainting Goat), among other top chefs, will also be participating in the fundraiser.
