Police Find Dead Body in Burning Car in Northwest Washington

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) is investigating the death of a man found in a burning SUV in DC’s Brightwood Park neighborhood on Monday.

The car was found in the 500 block of Nicholson Street NW at around 4:30 pm, after DC Fire and Emergency Services (EMS) responded to reports of a fire at the location.

The body was discovered inside the van after the fire was extinguished. 

Officials have not identified the victim yet, as an investigation into the car fire is ongoing.

The cause of the man’s death has also not been announced. 

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will perform an official autopsy on the body.
