New York-based software as a service firm Diligent Corporation is relocating to a 30,000-square-foot office in the District with its 90 local employees from the 8,000 square feet office in Arlington, it was announced on April 17.
The new office will be located at a 12-storey, 268,460-square-foot office building at 1111 19th St. NW. According to CFO Michael Stanton, the new place can accommodate up to 200 employees.
Last year, Diligent reported a revenue of over $200 million. The company first entered the region in 2017 after purchasing its local competitor BoardEffect Inc.
The company outgrew its Arlington office and is planning to hire more people while being closer to its customers, mostly nonprofits, in the new location, says Stanton.
“It’s a great pool of talent to hire from — people with software as a service background, great marketers, great salespeople, and great finance accounting and operations people. Our single largest concentration of customers is in the Greater New York area. Washington, D.C. is a very close second,” he said.
With around 1,000 total employees, Diligent “provides online platforms for corporate board members and senior executives that assist in communication and the protection of sensitive information.”
The company also has offices in London and Christchurch in addition to New York and D.C. It serves more than 16,000 organizations and 600,000 executives in 90 countries.
